So, you win a $2,000 TV and by the time you get the TV its worth $1,800 you would have to report $1,800 as income. Now on your smaller prizes you should not expect to receive a 1099 form. On your larger prizes you should expect to receive a 1099 form in the mail from the sweepstakes sponsor. When you win a large prize the sweepstakes sponsor will have you fill out an affidavit form. If your not required to fill out an affidavit form odds are your won't get a 1099 form.
5. Enter the Sweepstakes of your choosing
Now its time to enter the sweepstakes of your choosing. Most sweepstakes these days allow you to enter online. Just MAKE SURE to enter as many times as the rules of the sweepstakes dictate.

If you are a winner you typically will get notified through an email or phone call. Sometimes you do get a UPS Package surprise. If you receive an email or phone call don't wait to respond!! Most sweepstakes promotions have a short period of time which you need to respond to claim your prize. Failure to respond within the stated timeframe will result in you losing your prize and it going to someone else. RESPOND RIGHT AWAY IF YOU ARE A WINNER.
